He is the person who won two Olympic gold medals, won gold medals in 2004 and 2012, and was also the world champion in 2001 and 2003. Just before turning 36, he set a world record. World Masters U35 with a time of 48.10. Sanchez has had many nicknames: "Super Felix", "invincible", "Superman" and "dictator". Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium, the largest stadium in the Dominican Republic, bears his name. Sánchez retired in April 2016, citing the recent birth of his son. He lives in California.
