A LAWYER has founded a new tiny home village inspired by an upmarket ski resort.
Each of the 11 units offers guests a “private, quaint little living space.”

A new tiny home village opened this year in Ellicottville, a western New York skiing village.
Local attorney Robert Carbone and a team of partners founded the community, inspired by another tiny home village situated in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Carbone loved the idea of guests enjoying the ski resort experience but while staying in tiny homes rather than hotels.
“Our consultant mentioned it and asked us if we thought this would work in Ellicottville,” he told Salamanca Press.

“We definitely thought it would.”
Named Basecamp, the village began welcoming its first guests in February.
Each home is equipped with a modern kitchenette, a washer/dryer, a full bathroom, and between 280 and 800 square feet of living space.
The community is just a stone’s throw from the nearby ski slopes of Sky High Adventure Park and Holiday Valley Resort.

There are various sizes of homes to choose from at Basecamp, and rates start at $200 a night.
“The idea for a tiny home unit is it’s your own cabin and feels like your own personal space at the base of the ski slopes,” said Carbone.
“You will have your own private, quaint little living space when you are visiting Ellicottville.”
As well as visiting skiers, Basecamp welcomes wedding parties, bachelor and bachelorette parties, golf trips, and more.
TINY USA
More and more villages like Basecamp are springing up across America.
Some of them are specifically designed for full-time residents.
For example, Acony Bell in North Carolina is home to 92 unique tiny homes situated among the Blue Ridge Mountains.
For as little as $550 a month, residents have all their utilities taken care of and enjoy the communal garden and chicken coop.
